There are also hormonal imbalances that can give rise to hair loss. For instance, women can experience hair loss because they are lacking in certain hormones, or because their reproductive hormones are fluctuating. Both men and women can suffer from hair loss due to fluctuating or imbalanced levels of thyroid hormones, which do not only affect the hair, but the body’s ability to process certain nutrients. Remember how your computer used to be fast and responsive? But now, everything is a crawl and it takes forever to open the browser, check emails, or even do basic word editing, etc.
Well, the details are quite technical and boring for most of you, but, in a nutshell, Microsoft Windows uses what's know as the Registry for keeping track of all those programs you have installed on your computer. Over time, lots and lots of entries are added to this registry. Every time you install a new peace of software, some Internet search tool for your browser, and even rogue applications, known as malware, sometimes create these entries in your registry without you even knowing it. A lot of these programs, especially the so called Shareware or Freeware variety, are not the most robust when it comes to 'playing nice' - Especially after you uninstall them. So, even after you remove these programs from your system, they leave traces of their registry entries behind.
There are many tools out there that deal with these types of issues rather effectively. One such a tool that has worked very well for me is called ErrorFix.

This tool is even certified for Windows Vista, which further illustrates that this is a serious tool - not just some quick and dirty software that will do more harm than good.

For the curious: If you want to get a feel for what's in this registry, you can type Regedit.exe from the Windows/Start/Run command prompt. You will see a window displaying what looks like a lot of folders and sub folders with various, often cryptic, names. DO NOT EDIT OR DELETE any of these entries if you don't know what you're doing. So if you can find a reputable local company that sells computers they assemble themselves, you'll get a well built computer for a lot less because you're not paying for the brand name. So do your research well.
Buying a computer is a big deal for a lot of people, and understandably so and it is a very personal decision, and it is no longer like buying a tool, but rather an emotional purchase of a beautiful piece of furniture, adding character to the space surrounding it.
Buying a computer is not always at the top of your shopping list, especially with the current jump in food and gas prices and it is always an exercise in compromise.
All the above can be summarised by saying buying a computer is like buying a car or a home, give it the same respect and research and you will not go far wrong.

So You Suffer Frequent Sore Throats and You're Not Sick?

Known as vocal abuse, chronic hoarseness, sore throats, and even loss of voice are on the rise and unless you take steps to eliminate this serious problem, the damage to your vocal folds (cords) can be permanent. Unfortunately, permanent damage cannot be undone. Taking the proper steps to eliminate vocal abuse, however, results in the saving of your voice and the ability to increase your volume without shouting as well as greater longevity for speaking.
I cannot tell you how many people complain to me of chronic hoarseness or sore throats and they are not sick. What is causing the problem is misuse or misplacement of the voice: excessive wear and tear of the vocal folds; and it is very individual. Some people can yell all day with no difficulty, soreness or pain; others cannot.
Hillary Clinton is a prime example of vocal abuse. For almost two years she campaigned daily and put tremendous pressure on her throat and vocal folds. The one that is missing is the chest cavity.
Those who have had training are able to use their chest as their primary resonator or amplifier and they sound like James Earl Jones, Kathleen Turner, George Clooney and Diane Sawyer. Their voices exhibit warmth, depth, resonance.
When you learn to place your voice properly, you will discover those qualities as well and your vocal abuse will end. In addition, you will find your voice continually improving with age, because you have taken the pressure off your voice box and throat. So, when you are 85, you may look your age, but you won't sound like it.
There is absolutely no other way to alleviate vocal abuse except one: stop talking. And, for most people, that is no way. Drugs cannot make your voice better. Whispering cannot make your voice better. (Incidentally, whispering actually makes your voice worse because your voice box is then doing all the work - whispering is a no-no!)
Learn to use your voice properly and the vocal abuse will end. Imagine a voice that has power, resonance and longevity. By the way, you will also like your 'new' voice on your answering machine!

Nutrition: Vitamin D May Play Larger Role in Health

Now researchers say they have evidence that even in the general population, having too little of the vitamin appears to be associated with a higher risk of death.
Writing in The Archives of Internal Medicine, researchers say they looked at the vitamin D levels and death rates of more than 13,000 people over a period of more than six years.
Those who fell in the lowest quarter of vitamin D levels had a 26 percent higher risk of death from all causes than those in the top quarter, found the study, which was led by Dr. Michal L. Melamed of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
About 41 percent of men and 53 percent of women in the United States have levels of the vitamin that are considered too low.
The researchers pointed to other studies looking at the role in disease of vitamin D, which can be found in milk and also comes from exposure to the sun. Researchers have found, for example, that deaths from cardiovascular disease are higher in the winter, when less sun leads to lower levels of vitamin D.
The question now, the study says, is whether taking supplements to raise levels of the vitamin would lower the risk of death.

Low Cholesterol Diet
